Ruka Kobayashi was born in a small town in Japan. She had a twin sister named Sumire. They were very close, and they did everything together. They loved to play outside, and they would often go swimming in the river near their house. One day, when Ruka and Sumire were playing in the forest, they came across a strange old man. He was dressed in black, and he had a long white beard. He told the girls that he was a wizard, and that he could grant them one wish.
